Peoples Democratic Party Inaugurates Permanent Secretariat

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, today, inaugurated the state-of-the-art permanent secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State.

The commissioning which held at permanent grounds of the new secretariat witnessed highly enthusiastic party faithfuls led by the state leader of the party, HE Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, who in thanksgiving first ascribed the success of the completion of the purpose built Secretariat to God and then to the commitment of the party leadership.

"I want to thank God who by his hands has done wonderful things. To God be the glory. Let me also thank the outgoing leadership for the commitment they have shown towards the completion of this project".

While Inaugurating the five star edifice which houses 45 offices, fully equipped Publicity wing with press briefing room, a multi purpose auditorium with accommodating space for 1000 persons, Governor Emmanuel said that the secretariat is in a class of its own. The Governor thanked the outgoing Paul Ekpo's led administration for their support and prayed God to bless and keep every working member of the team for their sacrifices to the party and the State. Governor Udom Emmanuel described Obong Ekpo as a man of purpose who has stopped at nothing towards the attainment of greater height for the party.

In his remarks, the outgoing chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, said that history will be fair to him and his Exco members as he will not just be part of people who will tell it but as one whose contributions made remarkable input to the success of such history in the party.
Ekpo acknowledged the hands of God as the hallmark of the numerous successes achieved under his administration. He appreciated party faithfuls for their unalloyed support and appealed for similar support to the incoming administration.

Speaking further, Obong Paul Ekpo paid tribute to the past State leaders of the party who had laid credible foundations which led to the success of the PDP and his administration.

In his words "I must pay tribute to all the former leaders and chairmen of our party, for without our history there will never have been our present, let alone a future. Let me salute our past party leaders and Governors of the state, they all deserve commendations for the way the led the party to all the victories she recorded during their tenure".

Appreciating the Governor, HE Udom Emmanuel, he urged the people to imbibe the character of the Governor who is a person of truth, firmness and accountability whole recounting that it could have been almost impossible for his administration as state chairman to record such an unprecedented success as witnessed during his reign.

The National Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus while delivering his speech poured encomium on the stellar leadership of Governor Udom for giving such massive support to Paul Ekpo's led administration which is evidential in the tremendous successes recorded.

"Akwa Ibom have a leader that has generated and is currently building other leaders. Your followers are following you with so much attention because your works are visible for all to see."

Calling on the people for continuous support for the administration of Governor Emmanuel, he admonished the people to keep faith with the Party.

"I believe the people of Akwa Ibom State deeply appreciates the works of the State Governor and the outgoing party Chairman. I appeal for similar support for the incoming State Chairman and his Exco members."

It should be noted that the event held with full compliance to COVID-19 protocols where all invited guests who attended the event complied with the laid down procedures.
