UDO TOBBY'S CHILDREN BURIES MUM IN GRAND STYLE

The ancient city of Ikot Edor in Onna local government area of Akwa Ibom State was lively at the weekend as guests and sympathizers trouped in their large numbers amidst pomp and pageantry to witness the obsequies of Late Madam Nne Udo Tobby.

The funeral service took place at Oniong West Secondary School, Ikot Edor and was conducted by Qua Iboe Church, Ikot Edor Superintendency. The event had in attendance traditional rulers council, politicians, clergies, women and youth.
In his sermon, the Area Superintendent of Qua Iboe Church, Onna Superintendency, Rev. Uduakabasi Ikwot, said the only way for Christians to access the kingdom of God is by using the right key to unlock the padlock, which is repentance. He charged them to live a life that will qualify them for the kingdom of God which is a home for every faithful believer.
Presenting his tribute to his late mother, the first son and Village Head of Ikot Edor, Elder (Eteidung) Chief Nkamare Udo Tobby eulogized his mother as a selfless and hard-working wife and mother who always put her family first in all her endeavours.
"She was kind and generous to all. As I say goodbye to her, I want to say thank you "Mma" for your unconditional love and for being exceptional home manager," Chief Nkamare submitted.
According to a biography as presented by the family, "Late Madam Nne Udo Tobby was born in 1938 to the family of Late Chief Akpan Udo Emem of Nung Uduwan, Ikot Eko Ebon and Late Madam Nkuduk Akpan Udo Emem of Okom all in Onna local government area of Akwa Ibom State. She was the last child and third daughter to her mother whose husband was quite prodigious and had over 20 children by his very many wives.
"Late Madam Nne Udo Tobby was a virtuous woman and very industrious. She was a role model Christian woman leader, mentor and a true daughter of Zion. She completed her work with perfection, and no amount of money would have been enough to reward her for her invaluable contributions to the growth of humanity.
Condolence messages were received from the National Secretariat of United Evangelical Church signed by Chairman of Conference, Rev. Samuel Ebukiba, Ikot Edor Village Council, Divine Seeds High School, Eket, Divine Seeds High School Campus, Ikot Oso, Topfaith International Secondary School, Mkpatak, Essien Udim LGA, Local Education Authority Ibeno, Qua Iboe Church Ikot Edor Superintendency, Onna Local Government Legislative Council, Zenith Bank Plc, Ikot Edor Youth Council, UDTech Media Computer Academy, among others.
Late Madam Nne Udo Tobby was aged 83 years and survived by eight (8) sons including Pastor Inyang Tobby of Divine Seeds School, a daughter, fifty (50) grand children, and sixteen 16 great grand children and a host of other relatives to mourn her death.
Guests were treated to sumptuous meals while Eket born music maestro, John Warr and Pure Brass Orchestra led by Uwem Akpaah entertained with music.
