Ekong Sampson Predicts how PDP will fare in Direct Primaries Scenario

As the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) appears all but set to adopt Direct Primaries in the fast approaching 2023 General Elections, a  notable politician and former Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources, Akwa Ibom State, Rt Hon. Barr. Ekong Sampson has predicted how his party, the Peoples Democratic Party will fare in the elections of such scenario. He said poignantly that the party will continue to be an influential game changer be it in the direct or indirect primaries situations.

Barr. Sampson gave the position on Friday at the Chapter Flag Off of the e-Registration Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Mkpat Enin.

Addressing party faithful and stakeholders during the exercise, the former Lawmaker said the 'PDP was already well grounded' to always to remain a game changer in whatever elections format adopted by the nation's electoral umpire, INEC.

He expressed satisfaction with the high level of acceptability of the party in the area, even though he added that more still needed to be done and called on faithful to utilize the e-Registration exercise to register or revalidate their membership status in the party.

He rounded up his speech by donating the sum of one million naira to the party towards the registration exercise in Mkpat Enin, pledging his constant support to the party and its programmes including the forthcoming Summit in Mkpat Enin.

Other speakers at the exercise including the State Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga, House Member, Hon. Victor Ekwere, SSA, Power, Engr. Meyen Etukudo, Council Chairman, Hon. Anieokpon Ekpo, Chapter Chairman of the Party, Hon. Anietie Sunday all lauded the party for the smooth take off of the exercise and urged party men and women to key in and get electronically enlisted. 


The e-Registration Flag Off was held at the Peoples Democratic Party Secretariat in Mkpat Enin.  Barr Sampson, it was who initiated and championed the construction of the Secretariat in Mkpat Enin among his numerous other projects in the Local Government, all of which have endeared him greatly to the people
