INI ADIAKPAN MEETS WITH GROUP HEADS


...Harps on Interpersonal relationship,Respect and Humility towards state building
 
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare , Dr Ini Adiakpan today, 8 October, met with women group heads across the thirty one (31) Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.

The event organized by the Ministry was to help create a stronger synergy between the ministry and the different women group heads as well as educate women on election matters and mobilization.
Addressing participants at the event,Dr Adiakpan poured encomium on the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife,Dr (Mrs) Martha Emmanuel for the numerous political positions allotted to women across the state, calling it the first of its kind in the history of the State. She further eulogised the Governor as being gender friendly 
 
She commended the State chief executive for exhibiting professionalism in the discharge of his duties. This she said has brought about meaningful developments to the State and has help placed the state top among industrial hubs in Nigeria.
 
Adiakpan lauded the group heads for their stewardship and steadfastness towards the completion agenda of His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel through various supports to the administration.
"Don't let your actions give wrong impression about women, ensure you have a very good interpersonal relationship with those around you. Her Excellency Dr (Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel has set a standard for humility and we as women must follow her good example. Don't be mobilized to stay at home, go around your community and preach the gospel of the need for women and youths participation in politics," she said.

 
The high point of the event was seminar presentations by distinguished Akwa Ibom women, they are Pastor Sylvia Ekong, PDP Vice Chairmanship Candidate in Uyo LGA who spoke on grooming women for leadership; Mrs Abigail Edohoeket and Mrs Maria-therese Adiakpan who also spoke on elections education, mobilization and raising an entrepreneurial household for the benefit of the Society.

 
Present at the event were Mrs Margaret Edem, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare; Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, SSA to Governor on Education Monitoring; Dr Itoro Etim, Commissioner 1 law reform commission and other several dignitaries.
