The first lady made this known, after listening to the heart touching and rendering story of the rape victim and her single parent , during a sympathy and fact finding visit to their residence at Ikot Ataku in Okon Eket geopolitical zone.

Mrs Maryann Ita Tommey even betrayed her emotions and wept profusely, on hearing of the trauma and pains the young mother has passed through in providing some means of livelihood for her daughter.

The " Florence Nightingale"  also used the occasion to announce that she will foot the medical bills for the Primary three drop - out  and also paid for a decent accomodation for the mother.

The lady with the lamp, a trained US based nurse, was accompanied on the visit  by the Vice Chairman of Eket LGA, Rt Hon Comfort Emmanuel  and a one time Councillor of Okon I ward, Hon Essien Inyangudo.

On hand to receive the first lady's entourage in Ikot Ataku were Vice President of Okon Youth Council, Comrade Adebayor Emmanuel Peter , Acting Youth President of Ikot Ataku, Comrade Emmanuel  Essien , PDP Youth Leader for Okon I, Akparawa Ubokudom Cyril  and a community cum religious activist, Reverend Gideon Udeme, among others..

What a glorious day ! A lesson for all of us is that for every loss, there is victory, for every sadness, there is joy, and when you think you’ve lost everything, there is hope.

Only in the darkness can you see the stars. Certainly, every cloud has its silver lining.

Thanks for being there for them when they really needed you most. We appreciate you so much . You couldn't have shown up at a better time

None of us got to where we are alone. Whether the assistance we received was obvious or subtle, acknowledging someone's help is a big part of understanding the importance of saying thank you.

The unthankful heart    discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.
