LUCY ITRECHIO CELEBRATES WITH THANKSGIVING, EMPOWERS WOMEN ACROSS THE TEN WARDS OF IBENO.

...says Martha Udom Emmanuel is God's sent to Akwa Ibom women.

President of Potential Ladies/Supervisor for Women Affairs, Ibeno Local Government Council, Deaconess (Mrs.) Lucy Itrechio, during a Thanksgiving/Empowerment Service held at the Apostolic Church, Inua Eyet Ikot, Eket Field, Akwa Ibom Territory, on Sunday, 19th December, 2021, empowered women across the Ten Wards in the LGA with cash support, wrappers, and Food items. 

Mrs. Itrechio, said the Thanksgiving service was to show gratitude to God for Grace and mercy upon her life, her family, and the people of Ibeno. She advised women to always reflect true attributes of motherhood while bringing up their children.

She appreciated the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Martha Udom Emmanuel, saying they are gender friendly and compassionate , adding that the Governor's wife has been providing shelter for the less privileged and widows in the State.

"As foot soldiers of the Governor's wife, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, we can boldly say that she has proven her credibility as a true mother. She is genuinely committed to ensuring gender equality and safety of the women irrespective of tribes and background".

Itrechio, appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ibeno, High Chief Williams Mkpah and wife, Mrs. Blessing Mkpah, political leader of Ibeno and Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt.Hon. Okpolupm Etteh and Dr. Eunice Thomas, maintaining that "Governor Udom Emmanuel came prepared as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State with a perfect companion in the person of Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, to lead the people of the State with outstanding legacies in governance and leadership exhibitions".

She called on mothers to partner government in the fight against female victimization, rape, and other forms of gender based violence, urging them to preach the message of peace, good governance and get registered in the continuous Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and ongoing e-registration of PDP membership".

The President of Potential Ladies, Mrs. Lucy Itrechio, specifically appreciated her husband, Evangelist Joshua Itrechio, for the love, care and support, describing him as her "God on earth".

Mrs. Carolyn Bright, a petty trader from ward (1) who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries of Itrechio's benevolence, thanked the Women Affairs Supervisor for extending to them love and kindness at this festive period.

"I am happy to be among the selected (Ibaan Mfoniso). Mrs. Lucy is a good woman who understands our pains and agony as widows. We will continue to pray to God to grant her long life and sound health for the task ahead".

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Chairman for ward One, Esit Eket LGA, Evangelist Assam Harry, commended Mrs. Itrechio's gesture and the entire Executives of "Potential Ladies" for joining their president for the Thanksgiving/Empowerment Service. 

"With what I have seen here today, there is need for us as a party and as a people to always consider capacity and dedication whenever we are to decide on who should lead us".

Supervisor for Women Affairs, Esit Eket Local Government Area, Obonganwan Harry, during the Thanksgiving service, advised women to exhibit responsible leadership pattern both at home and at workplace in order to help build the future of young girls and guide them from becoming victims of abuse by men.

Crayfish, Smoked Fish, plantain, tubers of yam, palm oil, bag of Garri are among items also presented to the church by the leadership of Potential Ladies during the Thanksgiving/Empowerment Service.

The event was attended by the Ibeno chapter of Akwa Ibom State Female Youth, led by Lady Edith Akpanika, Hon. Agnes Akwaowo, Friends and supporters.
