By Raymond Alphonsus

Youths in Oron Federal Constituency have received presents sent to them by Governor Udom Emmanuel through his Divine Mandate Community Service.

The Youths drawn from Oron, Okobo, Udung Uko, Mbo, Uruefong Oruko all received the presents which include cash and food items, sent to them by the Governor through his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Wilson Iwaudofia and Special Assistant to Governor on Research and Documentation, Mr. Essien Ndueso.

The excerise was hosted by the Deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey who was ably represented by Her Press Secretary Elder Edet Okpo.

The Divine Mandate Community Service which has been on since 2015 is a mechanism through which the Governor reaches out to the less privileged, helpless and vulnerable members of the society.

Setting the tone, Mr. Ndueso stressed at the event that Gov. Udom Emmanuel has done so much for Oron Federal Constituency and has commissioned lots of road projects in Oro nation.

He assured all that Government presence is everywhere around them as contractors are working hard to complete all ongoing projects in the federal constituency and around the state in line with the Governor's completion agenda.

He thanked the people for their unflinching support for the Governor, maintaining that it was the first time a governor is deliberately executing turnkey projects in all local government areas in the state at the same time.

"Look at the ongoing dual carriage way between the Victor Attah International Airport and Oron, work is still ongoing despite the rains.

That shows that the Governor has remained focused on his blueprint despite the global pandemic and the low downturn in the fortunes of the economy."

Comrade Iwaudofia who added that Gov. Emmanuel has touched the lives of youths in the federal constituency also commended the Governor for appointing more youths as his Senior Special Assistants and special assistants noting that the Governor is the best youth friendly Governor in the Country.

He also thanked the youths for their votes which they massively casted for the Governor at the 2019 polls, and added that their recognition for the token of palliatives from the Governor from among several others, indicate the need for them to remain steadfast and loyal at all times.

In her goodwill message, the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the brilliant initiative and also commended Comrade Iwaudofia and Mr. Ndueso for being exemplary in their commitment to service.

She thanked the Governor for his developmental strides in Oro nation and assured him that Oro nation will always support his vision.

The elated youths of Oron Federal constituency were full of appreciation for the Governor for being a promise keeper who remembers them even after the General elections.

Educating the youths on the preventive measures of COVID 19  also dominated proceedings.

The Governors aides who ensured social distancing at the event also told all the youths to always put on their facemasks as directed by the State Government.
