TUC Commends the establishment of SSAEAC in A’Ibom

The
Chairman of Trade Union Congress, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Dominic
Abang has commended the establishment of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Senior
Staff Association of Electricity Allied Company (SSAEAC). The TUC Chairman made
the commendation during the inauguration of Akwa Ibom State executive of the
organization in Eket at the weekend.
Comrade
Abang said the creation of Senior Staff Association of Electricity Allied
Company in Akwa Ibom State has expanded the coast of TUC and added another
affiliate group to the existing bodies that made up the TUC components which
will strengthen the body to carry out its responsibilities appropriately.
“Today
is a remarkable one in the annals of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, Akwa
Ibom State Council. My earnest appreciation goes to God Almighty who in his
magnanimity expanded the coast of TUC in Akwa Ibom State by adding yet another
affiliate group to the existing bodies that make up our component in the state.”
Comrade
Abang also thanked the South-South Assistant General Secretary of SSAEAC,
Comrade Innocent Lord Douglas for coming all the way from Rivers State to
perform the inauguration of Akwa Ibom Chapter, showing his love for unionism
and service to electricity workers.
While
congratulating the newly inaugurated members of the Akwa Ibom State executive
of SSAEAC for emerging victorious in a free, fair and transparent poll, Comrade
Abang urged them to hold on to the tenets and principles of SSAEAC and TUC, promising
to give them the enabling support and motherly coverage at all times.
Comrade
Abang said that the task of unionism is enormous but with a collective responsibility,
they can attain a brighter future, charging the new executive to be resolute in
their struggle to protect the welfare of electricity workers. He therefore appealed
to them to work with the State Council of TUC for optimum results.
“The
task of unionism is enormous as we all know, but we can overcome if we deal
resolutely with the challenges faced by our members. Although, the future is
bright, the process to attain that bright future is a collective responsibility
of all of us.
Those
inaugurated are Ifiok Ime Utin, Chairman; Chidiadi Alagbo Amadi, Vice Chairman;
and Michael James Lawson, Secretary. Others are Nelly Uyoatta Eduok, Treasurer;
Kiakutu Salbi, Financial Secretary; Ita Ekpenyong Ekpenyong, Provost; and
Uyoatta Uke, Assistant Secretary.
