The leader of Eket Senatorial District COVID-19 monitoring team for
reopening of churches, Mr. Frank Archibong, has stated that he is
hopeful religious gatherings won't ignore stipulated safety guidelines
by government for reopening of churches in the State.
Mr. Archibong noted that the Church Monitoring team was set up on senatorial districts bases and saddled with the responsibility of ensuring safe gatherings and to prevent exposures to COVID-19 infection in religious settings. He said there is wide improvement as compared to last Sunday's record when the team inspected churches to ascertain compliance level.
Frank Archibong, who is the leader of AKSG Covid-19 Monitoring team for Eket Senatorial District, made this known today while briefing Journalists in Eket on the successes so far recorded.
He said level of safety guidelines compliance by Churches across the three Federal Constituency in Eket Senatorial District has greatly improved.
"With what I have seen today, i am glad that some churches are very much ready to conduct their services in line with stipulated safety guidelines". Archiong stated.
Mr. Archibong, advised worshippers at worship centres to adhere to public health and social measures put in place by government for reopening of churches in order to curtail the spread of Coronavirus disease.
"It it is health wise for churches and mosques to disinfect routinely, before and after services. Poor ventilation is also prime requirement Churches must ensure they maintained; Hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers should be provided at point of entries and strategic points during church services else, such church should not conducting any services", he added.
The team visited over Fifty churches across the senatorial district. Fathers of faith were led by the State Secretary of Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop Dr. Emmanuel Ebitu. Security Agencies, Supervisor for Health, Eket Legisative Council, Lady Charity Ikott, Mr. Tommy Enodien and health workers were also in the team during today's monitoring exercise.
Leader of the team, who is also the Executive Chairman of Eket LGC., Commended the State chief executive, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for ensuring the State is safe and secure for businesses to grow.
He said Governor Emmanuel, is committed to ensure an enabling environment that will attract investors to come and do business in the State where job creation would be on the increase.
He further appealed to fathers of faith to give in their best in order to overcome the numerous dangers and hardship cussed by Coronavirus pandemic.
