BREAKING: GOV OBASEKI LISTED AMONG 500 MOST DISTINGUISHED NIGERIANS

The governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has been listed as one of the 500 Most Distinguished Nigerian Personalities otherwise known as Nigeria 500 Roll of Honour to be published in the Maiden Edition of Nigeria Book of Records to mark Nigeria 60 Independence Day Anniversary Celebration.

Other Nominees for this revered recognition include President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari; former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar; Democracy and Human Rights Activist, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin; CEO/Medical Director, Las Vegas Pain Institute, Dr. Godwin Maduka; distinguished Scholar and Diplomat, Dr. Christopher Kolade; and the Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu.
According to a statement by the President/CEO of Black Heritage Publication, Ambassador David, the choice of governor Obaseki among the 500 Roll of Honour is as a result of his sterling leadership qualities, courageous disposition and excellent performance as the governor of Edo State in the past four years. His wealth of experience as a seasoned technocrat and financial prudence have brought about tremendous developmental projects/programmes in Edo State thereby having positive impact in the life of his people.
The compendium of 500 Most Distinguished Nigerian Personalities is a product of
intensive and painstaking research on the profile of those who have made
Nigeria proud in their respective fields of human endeavour. This edition
happens to be a bridge to Nigeria’s heroes of the past, whose names were
engraved in many documentaries for posterity.
This work is aimed at showcasing the true image of
Nigeria vis-a-vis its citizenry to the outside world, against the
misrepresentation of facts caused by negative attitude of some Nigerians. The
book is to showcase the enterprising spirit of Nigerians of all walks of life,
as an inspirational benchmark for youths of today. It is an illustration that
Nigeria is blessed with abundant human resources, most of which are helping in
the building of other economies worldwide.
The collection of names of distinguished Nigerians who
have made this particular edition is a continuation of an established mechanism
for the preservation of our history as a people. Nigerians are known for hardwork and ingenuity. Here
are the purveyors of our identity as the leaders of the black race in the
world. They rose to the peak of their respective field of human endeavour,
using the “never say die”spirit of their forebears. The spirit that has keep
Nigeria as a strong indivisible country, despite some disturbing signs of
